“If U stay ready, you ain’t gotta get ready.” Suga Free
I think it’s important to have a “go-to” first date outfit, especially if you’re dating a lot. Meeting new prospects is hard enough without having to worry about what to wear each and every time. I found this gorgeous outfit at White House Black Market. I was out grabbing lunch and, on impulse, I dashed in to see if they anything that would be perfect for a date. I saw this adorable cami and jacket, tried it on and literally walked out of the store in ten minutes flat. More good news, they were having a 25% off sales. Happy dance!
What I think makes this a great date outfit is that it is both flirty and tailored at the same time. The cami has embroidered flowers in lots of pretty colors and bonus, the straps are adjustable so it’s easy to get a good fit. The colors in the cami make this perfect for most seasons. The jacket is very on-trend and is the perfect military-inspired jacket that gives this outfit a little polish. What’s even better is that the jacket has lovely details like ribbon along the sleeves and an adjustable metal closure in the back that helps to nip you in at the waist. This is not your father’s Army green jacket!
I’ve worn this cami and jacket combo with cropped blue jeans and grey suede booties on at least a half a dozen dates. Each time I wear this outfit, I feel pretty, confident and ready for my date. The last time I wore this outfit on a first date, the October day was unusually warm so I ended up taking off the jacket. My date didn’t seem to mind (haha) and I felt comfortable, not like I was overly exposed on a first date.
Do you have a go-to dating outfit? Have you thought about putting one together so you can be on auto pilot and focus on enjoying your date? Would love to hear!
